Edit a Customer Credit Note

Edit a Customer Credit Note

You can edit a credit note but what changes you can make all depends on its status:

  • When a credit note has the draft or awaiting approval status, you can edit any field.
  • In awaiting payment with no allocation and refund, you can edit any field in the credit note.
  • When a credit note has the paid or partially paid status, you can edit only limited fields i.e. Contact, Credit Note #, Reference, Description, Account and Tracking fields. If you want to edit other fields then you have to remove the linking of the credit note from the invoice.

You must have either the adviser, standard, invoice only + approve & pay, or invoice only + sales only user role.
